The North Wales Team Championship (NWTC) has once again proven itself to be the beating heart of competitive Warhammer 40,000 in North Wales. Over the course of two action-packed days, 10 teams from 6 different clubs gathered to battle it out in a celebration of strategy, camaraderie, and community. With 50 players competing, this was the largest NWTC yet—an incredible milestone for the event in only its third year.
The Podium: New Champions Crowned
The tournament delivered nail-biting matches and dramatic swings of fortune, but when the dice finally settled, it was Wrexham’s “Super Happy Fun Team” who emerged as the 2025 champions. Their hard-fought victories secured Wrexham the crown for the second time in three years, breaking Deeside’s hold on the title.
🥇 First Place: Wrexham’s Super Happy Fun Team

🥈 Second Place: Vale Renegades’ Noble Lance

🥉 Third Place: Deeside Defenders’ Alpha One

Deeside, last year’s winners, fought bravely and still secured a podium finish, while the Vale Renegades proved that consistency and teamwork can bring new faces into the spotlight.
“This year really showed how much the North Wales 40K community has grown. Ten teams competing across two days is a huge achievement, and the quality of play was phenomenal,” said one of the event organizers.
Growing Bigger and Better Every Year
What started as a small regional competition just three years ago has now become a flagship event for the Warhammer 40K scene in Wales. With more teams than ever, NWTC 2025 set a new standard for participation and atmosphere. The sense of sportsmanship and community spirit was clear throughout the weekend, both on and off the tables.
Thanks to Our Sponsors
The event would not have been possible without the incredible support of HotDice Games, official sponsors of Team Wales 40K. Not only did HotDice Games provide the tables, elite gaming mats, and venue, but they also pledged a generous £400 donation to Team Wales 40K.
If you loved the mats used during the championship, you can support the sponsor directly—HotDice Games has them available to preorder through their website (yes we had access to exclusive pre realese versions). A perfect way to level up your own gaming experience while giving back to the community.

What’s Next for Team Wales?
The momentum doesn’t stop here. Team Wales 40K already has two fundraisers lined up—one in January and another in April. These events are not just about raising money; they’re a chance to bring players together, build the community, and keep the competitive spirit thriving. Keep an eye out for more details in the coming weeks.
