Wales National Championships Celebrates Allies of Convenience 2025!

This past weekend, the Allies of Convenience 2025 tournament brought together some of the best Warhammer 40,000 teams from across the UK for an epic showdown—and what an event it was! With Ten, eight-person teams battling it out in a thrilling practice run ahead of the World Team Championships next week, it proved to be a great testing ground for national teams looking to test their metal before the big push (as always!). The competition was fierce, the camaraderie was strong, and the dice rolls were (mostly) in our favour!

A Weekend of Glory and Grudges

The tournament saw Scotland take the top spot, with Team England securing a well-earned second place. But the real story for us? Team Wales fought hard to claim third place, proving once again that the Welsh 40k scene is on the up and up!

Beyond the national teams, we also saw fantastic performances from Welsh club teams which included WNC members from 5 Roads Buccanears (Wales West), Deeside Defenders and Wrexhammer (Wales North), and the Vale Renegades (Wales South), who banded together into the following teams:

• Deeside Galacticos
• Vale Renegades
• Deeside Dragons

These clubs showed incredible spirit, skill, and sportsmanship—exactly what the Welsh 40k community is all about. Whether they were playing for glory or just for fun, every participant helped make this event a true celebration of our hobby.

What’s Next?

First up, we wish Team Wales, Team Scotland, and Temu England the best of luck at the World Team Championships next week—go show the world what you’ve got!

Then, mark your calendars for the September North Wales Team Championship and then October, when the Battle of Britain returns! This legendary event will see Wales, England, and Scotland clash once more—and with the momentum from Allies of Convenience, we’re ready to bring the fight!
